(Picture is Little Coal Creek near the trailhead) DENALI STATE PARK INFORMATION Denali State Park has over 48 miles of established trails and several campgrounds, all of which are accessible from the main road.
Byers Lake State Campground (mile 147), has 66 sites, fire pits, toilets, water and offers easy access to Byers Lake where there is excellent fishing. There is a hiking trail to Curry Ridge and south to Troublesome Creek. Denali View North Campground (mile 163), 20 sites, toilets & water. Little Coal Creek Trailhead (mile 163). This is a 27 mile trail (43km) to Byers Lake (mile 147) via the Kesugi Ridge. The trail offers relatively easy access, incredible views and offers an excellent alternative to Denali National Park.
