Dear Billie,
I was only two days and two nights in your hostel-but I felt the warmth feelings what you had for us.-
I'm in Alaska since 20th of June or about 8 weeks, and I leave on 22nd of August-
The people in Alaska are fantastic people, warm and very helpful when you need something.
I 'm a medical doctor in Montreal and at the age of 73 yrs! I'm a traveler not a tourist and had the opportunity to visit Asia, Africa, South America, Alaska and for sure Europe- all over- because I've coming from Romania.-
All over the world where I  went, I couldn't meet people so warm as the Alaskans.-
I'm leaving with the feelings that I'll come back in 2-3 yrs. together with a group of friends who will appreciate the people from Alaska and between them-you Billie

Dear Billie,
Thank you for the hospitality and comfort what I had in your hostel.
In your hostel I met some people also from other countries, who warm my heart with their attitudes.-
This is one of the reasons to stay in hostels, meet nice people, have comfort and enjoying the presence of other people.
I'm not a writer, I try to express my feeling in a language which is the last one learned and is the sixth one on the line.
god Bless you and all of the Alaskans

We had the pleasure to stay at Billie's for a whole week.
A nice cozy place which doesn't feel like a hostel, it's more like a temporary home. Billie and Co. were always very friendly and helpful no matter how many times we asked questions. This provided us a good slant to tour the country and see the whole interior and yet have a home base to come back to.
Thank you so much

Billie,
What a great way to start our life in Fairbanks!
Nice people, relaxed and home-like atmosphere, and always something to talk abut. Only a week in a tent but it feels like we really "lived here"
Thanks you so much for all of your help in making our stay so wonderful and heartwarming. We will remember this place always.

I have lived in Fairbanks for four years and had no idea there was a hostel right down the street !
I 'm glad I finally found it as a visitor! The home is wonderful as were the quests. Our next vacation will be to Japan, then perhaps, back  again to Alaska.
Bille's is a place that once encountered, is hard to imagine living without, and then, becomes the destination within itself. The people here make it the special place that it is. Thanks for the hospitality and open heartfelt warmth. The cocoa on a cold day. The coffee in the early morn, and the soothing  tea while watching for the late night aurora.

Hi Guys-
Thank you for sharing your home. Close contact is what makes a backpack traveling the experience it is.
Of course Billie, "I still think I'm 25 anyway !"
Thank you again for all of the great new friend made.

Billie,
The lady with a heart of gold.
A story that is still untold.
To offer your bed, for clearly, that was unsaid
Is true love for your guests and humankind
such a rare find
you do it all alone and
provide your guests a lovely and true home.
A kindred spirit, who needs to love ones own.
Thank you for opening my heart a little wider ;
as your home is better than my own.
your love, peace, kindness goes so far.

I now know there is hope for this world.

Bless you, lovingly in the light

June 21, 2006  (Summer Solstice)
Last night we spent the night  on a mountain above Eagle Summit.  Lovely, to be able to hike and not worry about darkness at 2 am.
We Watched the midnight sun skim the horizon~~~~
There just aren't that many hostels would be free enough to let us get back here at 5 am and sleep 'til 12 noon the next day.
Much Appreciated !!!

Billie is a warm, welcoming lady. Visitors are treated well. The place well worth the $. The facilities are not brand new, but clean and comfortable. I would stay again.

Great atmosphere! It had a good kitchen and good common areas. The dorm in which I stayed was a walk-through room and the bed was not that great (very squeaky). It is a long way to downtown and the next shops, but there is a great pub nearby and people (including Billie) were great. I enjoyed my stay very much.

This hostel is located near the university, and though it is a distance to downtown, the hostel is directly on the bus line. Billie is extremely accommodating and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hostel over any other in Fairbanks
